Here are some of the most hazardous foods to your physique and your training performance. Try to avoid them as much as possible.
A. High fructose corn syrup
You find it in almost every processed food; most notoriously soda, sweetened cereals, cookies and ketchup, it increases fat gain and leads to over eating.
B. Trans Fats
You find it in cookies, crackers, cake mix, frosting and commercially fried food such as doughnuts, french fries and onion rings. You also find it in low fat foods, dried soups, and non-dairy creamers.
Always look for partially hydrogenated oil when buying products. Trans fats increases inflammation, damage blood vessels and raises cholesterol.
They also increase muscle breakdown
C. Artificial sweeteners (Acesulfame-K and Aspartame)
You find it in anything that says sugar free like diet sodas, gum and candy. Found in Crystal Light and other sweeteners you add to water as well.
Try and limit them or avoid them altogether, they trick you into thinking that all sweet things are ok.
Stick to water, seltzer with fruit essences and teas.
