Baking Soda to keeps drains clean. I drop 1/2 cup in my sink every night and wash down with warm water.
Baking soda is also good if you have a septic tank. I use 1 cup in my toilet at least once a week.
In a Stainless Steel sink add 1/2 cup baking soda to 1 gal of water and dip silver in water and wipe with sponge to remove tarnish. Works great! No more cleaning with silver polish.
It also helps for cleaning brass door knobs, window handles and ornaments.
If you have hard water in your home, use two or three teaspoons of baking soda to optimize your detergents sudsing and cleaning power. It gets off hard water stains on chrome, keeps bubbles in the water longer, cuts through grease. Use a 1/2 cup in a load of laundry and it really helps your detergent do its job. Great when you need to bleach your whites too.
